  • le renne che si sono liberate sparpagliando i regali dappertutto;
  • l’Orso Bianco combinaguai che si è arrampicato sul palo del Polo Nord ed è caduto dal tetto direttamente nella sala da pranzo di Babbo Natale;
  • la Luna rottasi in quattro pezzi e l’Uomo che ci abitava caduto nel retro del giardino;

Children book in Italian

My dear children, this year I am trembling more than usual. Blame the White Bear of the North! It was the biggest explosion in the world and the most incredible fireworks display ever seen. The North Pole turned black!

Every December, J.R.R. Tolkien’s children received a stamped envelope from the North Pole. Inside was a letter with fine handwriting and a magnificent colored drawing. They were letters written by Santa Claus and told extraordinary stories about life at the North Pole:

  • the reindeer that got loose and scattered the gifts everywhere;
  • the White Bear who climbed up to the North Pole and fell from the roof straight into Santa’s dining room;
  • the moon, which broke into four pieces, and the man who lived there fell into the backyard;
  • the wars with the pesky hordes of goblins that live in the basement of the house!

From the first letter written to Tolkien’s eldest son in 1920 to the last, touching letter to his daughter in 1943, this book brings together all of these letters and the beautiful drawings in one charming edition.
