School and library discount
The German Book Price Fixing Act (Buchpreisbindungsgesetz) stipulates that books in Germany are subject to fixed book prices. It is intended to protect the book as a cultural asset. The fixed book price system obliges all publishers and importers to set a fixed book price (§ 5 BuchPrG).
However, we can offer attractive discount conditions for Italian and bilingual schools, support groups and libraries on the basis of § 7 of the BuchPrG. To do this, please indicate in the order that you meet the conditions listed below. Point us to your website or prove your eligibility for discount in a way that is verifiable to us. We will then create your order with the appropriate discount.
Who can get a discount?
- Municipal libraries open to everyone, state libraries and school libraries as well as denominational libraries receive a discount on book orders.
- In the case of collective orders of books for school instruction purchased on the property of the public sector, or private general education schools that have the status of state substitute schools, we grant the maximum permissible following discounts based on individual titles:
from 11 copies 8 percent discount more than 25 copies 10 percent discount more than 100 copies 12 percent discount more than 500 copies 13 percent discount - Insofar as textbooks are purchased by schools within their own budgets, we grant a general discount of 12% for all collective orders.
We are happy to order books and class sets from all publishers for you, even if they are not yet in our offer. For this we only need the ISBN numbers of the corresponding books and the quantity.
Good to know
Foreign language, imported books are usually not subject to price fixing, which is why we are more free in pricing and can also offer special discounts to teachers and educational institutions for smaller quantities.
