Incontri notturni

Un rumore mi sveglia. Rimango immobile e ascolto.

«Shh tranquilli, va tutto bene» sussurra Padroncina accarezzando me e Cody.

Aaah! Deve fare i suoi bisognini!

TRADUZIONE

4. Night encounters
A noise wakes me up. I stay still and listen. Mom and Buddy are sleeping deep in their sleeping bags and Cody is sleeping too, curled up next to Mom.
I don’t hear any more noise, so I go back to sleep.
Before I fall asleep, I think back to the beautiful evening we had. We lit a fire, had dinner and played a bit with the ball.

A noise wakes me up again.
«Shh, it’s all right, it’s all right» whispers Mistress Cody and me.
What’s going on? Why did you get up?
Mom unzips the tent very slowly and goes out quietly.
Cody and I get up yawning and follow her.

The air is cold, but luckily it’s not completely dark. The full moon shines above us and lights up the clearing. Also the stars shine in the blue sky. Mom walks towards the trees. But where is she going?
Then I hear and smell an unmistakable noise and smell…
Aaah! She has to do her business*!
I relax. Everything is alright. Cody walks up to a tree and raises his paw, too.

So I’ll look for a place to pee, too, and I walk to a big bush. It has green leaves little red berries and… two pairs of eyes?! I bark scared and the bush moves.

Two wild boars come out from behind the bush.
