Cody intanto annusa in giro e sembra preoccupato.
Meglio fare attenzione stanotte.»
Anch’io annuso in giro.

TRADUZIONE

3. THE SUN SETS
Finally we do a break! I think while I lay down in the shade of a big tree.
We walked for a few hours and now I’m very tired. And I’m also very thirsty! Luckily Mom fills a bowl with some fresh water for me and Cody.
Mom and Buddy get the packed lunch out of their backpacks and eat, then we’re back on our way.

Afternoon goes by fast and I start to worry. The sun is already setting behind the mountains and it’s getting dark. Aren’t we going home?
A little later we arrive in a clearing and Mom puts her backpack on the ground. “We have arrived!”
What? I look at her confused.
«Shall we build the tent here?» asks Buddy.
«Yes! It’s a good place, isn’t it?» she answers, looking around satisfied.
Build the tent? So we don’t go home for the night! I’ve never slept in a tent before. I’m very excited.

Cody, meanwhile, is sniffing around and seems worried.
«Cody, what’s going on?» I ask him.
«I smell something strange, and it’s very strong. Better be careful tonight.»
I’ll sniff around, too. He’s right, there is a very strong smell. There’s probably a wild animal’s lair nearby.
We have to keep watch tonight.
