Franz è andato subito a esaminarlo.

Was…

English translation

It was the night before Easter. Tomcat Franz had just woken up… and was already bored. It was night, the humans were sleeping and his friend Sissi was outside. Franz jumped on the windowsill to see what his friend was up to in the garden. Outside, Sissi was busy playing with those strange colored balls that his mom had hung on the branches of the bush. He had pulled them all down and now he was running after them, scattering them all over the garden. Franz sometimes did not understand his friend. Why was he always so active? It is better not to help him, that would be too exhausting, he thought. You must know that Franz is a very lazy cat…

Then he looked around. What can I do? What… There was something new on the table! It was a basket with green grass in it and other colored balls. Franz immediately began to examine it. It is certainly a new cat basket for me, how nice! But why are there all these balls? They are too hard, I better throw them out. And this bunny is no good either, it would only bother me when I‘m sleeping. Finally the basket was free, and Franz curled up in it. It’s really comfortable! And he fell asleep.

The next morning mom woke up and saw what Franz and Sissi had done. She wasn‘t very happy that her Easter decoration was ruined, but after a while she thought that it might be nicer this way, with a garden full of eggs and a cat in the basket instead of an Easter bunny.
«Not everyone has that!» she said with a big sigh, a little amused and a little resigned. And Franz was happy that he had once again succeeded in making his mom happy. I am really a good kitty!
