Il padre del romanzo storico italiano ha deciso di ripubblicare il suo più grande successo, i Promessi Sposi, in un’edizione illustrata, impegnandosi in prima persona come editore e seguendo tutte le fasi di lavorazione minuziosamente. La missione appare a chiunque improba, soprattutto a livello economico, ma il Manzoni è convinto dell’efficacia della commistione tra immagine e testo e procede spedito, fino a pubblicare l’edizione oggi conosciuta come Quarantana.
Il risultato finanziario è un disastro ma l’impatto culturale, inseguito dall’autore con una revisione del testo per renderlo più potabile al popolo, è straordinario: nei vari luoghi d’Italia alcuni borghesi si fanno carico di organizzare letture del romanzo ad uso degli analfabeti del popolo, creando un’immaginario condiviso seminale per la creazione dell’Italia.

About BeccoGiallo
BeccoGiallo is an Italian publishing house founded in 2005 and specialized in publishing comics.
Its name is a tribute to the courageous editorial experience of the anti-fascist satirical sheet “Il Becco Giallo”, which in the 1920s used drawing – together with written journalistic investigation – to criticize and incite the Power: its symbol was a blackbird, with its beak always open to shout the truths that were denied at that time.
BeccoGiallo now publishes about twenty titles a year, distributed in its different series, from Graphic Journalism to books designed for children, from biographies to fiction, up to the new world of Webcomics.
It also puts at the service of institutions and companies its decades of experience in editorial work, with the language of comics, for the design and development of dedicated tools for the dissemination of comics themes, research and initiatives in line with the philosophy of the publishing house.
Shipping
Shipping costs
Shipping within Germany is free of charge from 25 Euro, for orders under 25 Euro we charge a flat rate of 3.90 Euro shipping costs.
Orders with delivery to Austria and Italy are free of shipping costs from 99 Euro, for orders under 99 Euro there are weight-dependent shipping costs from 8.50 Euro, which are automatically calculated at the checkout.
We also ship to Switzerland from 12.00 Euro. All orders outside the EU are exclusive of VAT, but additional import duties may apply.
There is no minimum order value.
Delivery
We ship with DHL and Deutsche Post to Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.
The shipments are usually handed over to the shipping service provider within 24 hours on working days or on the day after receipt of payment. The delivery time is usually 2-4 working days within Germany or 1-3 weeks for deliveries to other countries.
You will always receive a tracking number, which you can use to track the current status of your delivery online.
